Responding vs. Reacting: What’s the difference? When you react to something, it is fueled by chaotic thought and impulsive feeling. When you respond, you pause for power and find stability through breath. Which do you do?
If you find that you are more reactive, give yourself permission to become responsive and consciously go through the steps to make it happen. Stop. Breathe. Relax. Ask: ‘What would love do?’ or ‘In what way can I respond to achieve a more positive and beneficial outcome for all concerned?’ Then wait for the answer before proceeding. Of course, there will be times when it seems impossible to wait for the answer. Trust, then, that the answer will present itself and invite the solution to appear. Surrender to the ministrations of the universe. You might find that just by embracing the steps necessary, the answer will become apparent.
