We all deal with trauma in our lives. It could be a sudden, unexpected event or an event that, though planned, overwhelms us with unexpected outcomes. Regardless of the way in which trauma presents itself to us, the initial trauma may be short-lived; the fall-out from it can endure for decades. Go through your day seeing everyone with soft eyes. Know that most everyone will be dealing with the fall-out of a trauma. They may not be thinking clearly and they may not even recognize the fact that they are still in a traumatic state. In the fullness of every day, trauma waits.
What will your day bring your way? Learn about trauma and become aware of where it lives, what it looks like, sounds like, and feels like in your life. It will help you respond resourcefully to it, lessen the fall-out from it, and release its grip. Consciously choose to release all the residual trauma from your past. Let it go and love whatever comes your way. Soften your eyes. Soften your heart. Breathe. Love YOU!
